Input please: gathering times

April 15th, 2008

First, a reminder;  for now, Agape will only be running on the first Wednesday of each month.  This means that it is not on tonight, though you may feel free to turn up if you wish.

We’d also like to propose an alternative.  I’d like to hear what people think about moving our agape meals (currently held weeknight evenings) to a more traditional time of Sundays.  We would hold this over lunch time (from 12:30pm) Sunday afternoons fortnightly to start with, and it would still be the same casual format of breaking bread, a meal and discussion.  Would this time frame work better for everyone?

We still plan to run our Sunday ‘Service’ - that is, the community service oriented gatherings - earlier on Sunday mornings (10:30am).  And there is great news on this front.  We have permission from the housing department to host a meal in the Tom Tom court senior citizen apartment’s common room.  We will do this once per month, as well as other community focused activities, and run them on the same day as Agape.

Please give your feedback on these ideas in the comments section of the website.

Meet Marcus Ardern

July 2nd, 2007

We are pleased to be able to host Marcus Ardern on Wednesday, 1st August 2007.

Marcus truly is a man worth listening to. Authentic, gentle and loving, Marcus loves to share stories of his adventures and numerous friends world wide.

Amongst other things over the years, he has traveled the world, been the principal of a bible college, run street ministries and has had audience with the then prime minister of New Zealand.  Most of all, Marcus lives out a faith that is both inspiring and contagious.

We would love to invite you to join us as we share in a casual meal and listen to whatever Marcus feels to share with us.  Dinner will be from 6pm at 224 Rouse street, Port Melbourne.  Contact Matt on 0407346336 or leave a comment for more details.
